Sustainability Supply Chain Intern

Corning Life Sciences is looking for a Supply Chain Sustainability Intern. Will you come and be a part of our supply chain organization?

Responsibilities and Mission

This mission in the Corning B.V. (CBV) Supply Chain department of Corning Life Sciences is an amazing opportunity, answering major goals of the company and supporting key challenges for the Supply Chain’s sustainability initiative. In this role, you will report directly to the CBV Supply Chain Project Manager and work in coordination with the CBV Supply Chain team based in Amsterdam.

Scope

Supports and champions the sustainability initiative of Corning Life Sciences through the Sustainability Project within the integrated supply chain (ISC) in EMEA. Qualitative and quantitative analysis on the impact of moving towards a sustainable supply chain in the Corning Life Sciences division. Understanding the competitive environment, customer needs and benchmarking CLS EMEA in this environment. Understanding the regulatory environment around sustainability in EMEA. Someone who can recommend and implement sustainability efforts to improve the footprint in integrated supply chain in EMEA. Works cross-functionally and uses internal and external resources to find solutions. Utilizes good documentation practices.

Requirements

• Support Supply Chain Project Manager in developing and implementing programs to create a sustainable supply chain organization
• Utilize good documentation practices
• Learn and share knowledge in supply chain (warehouse, logistics, procurement, etc.) systems.
• Plan, organize, structure - Prioritize tasks and manage time to ensure that deadlines are met.
• Result-oriented, capable in time management and deliver on plans
• Teamwork & Cooperation - Is an effective team player who contributes valuable ideas, opinions, and feedback. Communicates in an open and candid manner and can be counted upon to fulfil any commitments made to others on the team. Appreciates and integrates contributions of others
• Communication - Communicates effectively and appropriately. Uses good judgment as to what to communicate to whom as well as the best communication method
• Student is required to be located in the Netherlands Qualifications and Skills
• Fluent in English
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office
• Bachelor or master student required. Preferably in one of the following fields: Sustainability, Sustainable Design, Ecology, Supply Chain, Logistics, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, Life Sciences, Material or Biomaterial Sciences, Engineering

• The role is for a duration of 4 to 6 months
• Flexible up to 50% remote working (depending on the tasks & requirements)
