The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Configure and support network devices and solutions to align with Corning’s technology standards and meet the connectivity needs of our businesses.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Advanced cloud platform proficiency and strong experience with infrastructure-as-code, with emphasis on Ansible, Terraform and desire to apply automation to all aspects of network cloud administration
  • Solid understanding of multi-account and multi-region network topology and routing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AWS/Azure Cloud networking
  • Advance knowledge with Infrastructure as Code and desire to apply automation to all aspects of the network cloud administration and operations

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in technology and network engineering in large enterprise environment
  • 3+ years of experience in designing and developing cloud network solutions.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  • Hands on experience building cloud networks at enterprise with using IaC
  • Demonstrate experience solving problems at both cloud and traditional networks for large enterprises
  • Understanding of and practical knowledge of approaches to network security including packet filtering, access lists, firewalls, WAF, IDS, DDoS mitigation techniques
  • Experience with Cloud services and connectivity
  • Experience with scripting languages/toolchain automation products such as Python, Ansible, etc

 

 

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols including BGP and OSPF
  • Experience working directly with Cisco ACI, Cisco IOS and VeloCloud SDWAN
  • Experience with network infrastructure and network hardware including several of the following –Juniper, Palo Alto, ZScaler, Infoblox and IoT
  • Practical knowledge of TACACS, AAA, IPSEC, 802.x, and public/private key encryption
  • Experience configuring and using monitoring/alerting/forensic tools such as Auvik, Observian, Nagios, SolarWinds, Splunk, Cisco Prime, NNMI, NetBrain etc.
  • Understanding of pertinent frameworks, including ITIL, NIST and COBIT
  • CCNP or higher Cisco Certification
  • Cloud Certification (AWS/Azure)

 

 

LOCATION / TRAVEL / SCHEDULE RQUIREMENTS:

  • Based in Charlotte, NC preferred or near a Corning site
  • Up to 30% travel required, domestic (may occasionally have international travel)
  • Must be willing to be on call available for after-hours support and an on-call rotation as defined by the team for any of the position responsibilities listed above

The range for this position is  $93,889.00 - $129,098.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
