Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Purpose of the Position:
    Coordination in import of machine or auto assembly line established by external suppliers.
    Participate in existing machine upgrade, improvement of capacity, efficiency, yield rate.
    Provide electrical/controls engineering support to regional business production.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
    Support new technology migration through equipment installation, debug, process optimization and documentation.
    Support NPI in driving new equipment technology upgrade and engineering changes by evaluating the right specification, local regulations, time, and budget.
    Build and execute local automation design standard of electrical/controls.
    Develop electrical/controls basic, detail design delivering Drawing/Program/HMI/IO List etc.
    Follow up machine fabrication, installation, test electrical systems and provide engineering support to continuous improvement initiatives.
    Providing training and certification of operators and technicians.
    Interacting with Division and Plant technical resources to exchange and transfer technology of best practices.
    Implementing and enforcing procedures for maintaining a safe work environment.

Education & Experience  

    Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Electrical Engineering and Automation.
    8+ years’ work experience in automation engineering design.
    Familiar with PLC system design/programming.

Required Skills                                                

    Familiar with electrical system design with EPLAN/AutoCAD.
    Familiar with electrical component selection (PLC, circuit breaker, relay, power supply, inverter, servo, terminals, etc.)
    Strong skills of PLC and HMI programming mainly is AB Rockwell, Siemens.
    Familiar with Robot motion, vision system, ABB/FANAC is a Plus.
    Strong skills of problem definition and solving.
    Good English skill, able to communicate with English speakers via email or on the phone call.
    Logic thinking and detailed oriented.
    Strong ownership of achieving targets.
    Work independently and work well within team group.
    Be willing to travel up to 50%.

Desired Skills  

    Demonstrated project management skill.
    Knowledge of data analysis, trouble shooting and root cause finding with data driving.
    Presentation reporting skills.
    International & multi-culture communication, coordination, and follow-up ability.
