Scope of Position:

As a Manufacturing Quality Intern, you will support a wide array of quality department tasks relating to developing and implement systems, procedures, and projects required to successfully accomplish departmental, plant, and corporate goals and objectives. We look for you to make decisions based upon sound quality, engineering and scientific methods.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Assist in development of measurement systems that support quality manufacturing such as MSAs and control charting.

• Draft and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Provide support to Quality Engineer for daily tasks and projects, assist with root-cause investigations of nonconforming materials. Work closely on production floor with production associates. 

• Assist with review of existing in-process quality inspections of manufactured products to determine if there are options to optimize (reduce, change, streamline, etc.).    

• Analyze quality metrics from manufacturing data, identify opportunities and risks, develop plans for mitigation of risks and implement necessary changes to ensure sustainment of quality management systems.

• Support internal, customer, and external audits as needed.


Travel Requirements:

  • No travel for this role.


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Monday – Friday, 40 hours, 8am – 5pm.
  • Some flexibility may be needed to work off shift based on business needs.


Required Education:

  • Currently enrolled in and completed at least 2 years in a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s program student in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Biochemistry, Mathematics discipline. 
  • GPA > 3.0

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Knowledge of control charting, data analysis, MSAs is preferred but not required.
  • Technical writing.
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations to operators, engineers and managers.
  • Candidate should be outgoing and have the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. 


Soft Skills:

  • Effective communication & presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work on diverse project teams.
