Purpose of the Position: Corning Precision Glass Solutions is looking for a world-class, highly skilled, experienced, and motivated Sr. Process Engineer to join our Finishing Technology team in China.

The main responsibility of this position is leading a wide range of wafer level finishing processes and work closely with cross functional groups to support current and next generation wafer finishing, cost reduction, and new product introduction.

A Sr. Process Engineer may function as a program/project team member, consultant, or program/project leader depending on business needs.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Lead, plan, and support work streams and tasks related to various finishing processes and product lines such as:

Implement engineering principles and develop expertise in wafer finishing

Develop expertise in processes, materials (glasses and ceramics), and consumables/tooling with state-of-the-art characterization techniques and proper documentation

Drive fundamental understanding of process physics and failure modes

Project management and communication to business leadership

Develop improvement plans for manufacturing, cost reduction, and improved yields • Generate IP related to novel wafer finishing technology

Support end-to-end process integration to enable early product prototyping and qualification across multiple product lines and programs

Demonstrate problem solving skills and methodologies Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s in science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Optics or related discipline


Minimum of 8 years of Relevant Experience

Minimum of 2 years Project Management Experience.

Experience in project skill, product development, engineering and manufacture. • Fluent in English and Chinese (Written and Verbal)

50% travel may be required – domestic and internationally within Asia   Preferred Qualifications

Master’s in science and/or PhD Degree in Related Discipline • Experience in Optical Fabrication, glasses and ceramics processing

Experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication technology
