Senior Tax Analyst


Location: Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC


This position can be based in Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC and will be reporting to the Manager, Tax Operations. In this role, the Senior Tax Analyst will perform a variety of duties related to the Company’s ASC 740 income tax provisions and income tax compliance, including the following:


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Preparing/reviewing quarterly and annual foreign and/or domestic ASC 740 income tax provisions
  • Preparing all external tax reporting requirements, including SEC form 10-Q and form 10-K reporting and disclosures
  • Preparing quarterly and annual consolidated income tax account rollforward and reconciliation
  • Assisting in the preparation of the FIN 18 effective tax rate (“ETR”) forecast for the Company on a quarterly basis
  • Compiling and analyzing the Company’s NPBT forecast by legal entity to ensure proper jurisdictional mix  
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Company’s federal (1120, 1065) and U.S. foreign (5471, 8858, 8865) tax forms
  • Reviewing foreign return-to-provision templates, including local GAAP/IFRS statutory financials and local country tax returns
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) tax risk control matrix and coordinating internal and external audits
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements for Tax Operations on a regular basis
  • Assisting with other special Tax Planning or M&A projects as needed


Required Qualifications:

  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in either a public accounting and/or multinational corporation setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A working knowledge of ASC 740 Income Tax Accounting Preferred Qualifications:  
  • CPA license preferred
  • Advanced degree in tax a plus

  • Strong tax accounting technical skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint), Power BI/Tableau, and Alteryx
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other internal Finance departments including Accounting, Compliance & Reporting, Corporate FP&A, and Treasury
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, general ledger accounts, and prepare supporting tax workpapers  
  • Ability to research and interpret domestic and foreign income tax laws and regulations


Desired Skills:

  • Prior corporate income tax compliance experience
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, SAP, or another ERP software
  • Experience with OneSource Income Tax and/or OneSource Tax Provision software
  • Experience with tax research tools (e.g. BNA, RIA, and/or CCH) Directly
