Role Purpose:

  • Lead division supply chain master planning activities (1-24 months and 5-year planning) for one or more product lines. Develop and communicate plans to optimize capacity and inventory to meet demand. Identify gaps and opportunities to be addressed.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive the development of plans leading to execution across the division that enable superior customer service, low cost manufacturing, and optimized inventory and logistics performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Monthly Master Plan

  • Own the 24-month product line supply and inventory plan as a part of the monthly division Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning (SIOP) process.
  • Partner with the forecasting group on understanding how the demand statement impacts supply plans.
  • Partner with global plants to enable better understanding of how manufacturing performance assumptions impact supply plans.
  • Use SAP IBP to create master plans with actionable insights about forecasts and forecast accuracy, inventory position, and manufacturing plans and performance vs. plan.
  • Identify supply chain problems and opportunities in the medium and long term via thorough planning and analysis. Prioritize and communicate these topics for additional feedback and help drive action to close gaps.
  • Present the plan each month to division leadership for feedback and approval.

 

Strategic Capacity Plan

  • Support strategic planning process throughout the year, working with other master planners and the manufacturing strategy team to create optimized plans.
  • Analyze key trends in demand such as product and regional mix to understand their impact on installed and future capacity base, and synthesize plans to close gaps and capture opportunities.
  • Present key findings to management.
  • Revisit the capacity plan as new product opportunities, capacity rationalization, or technology shifts occur that require analysis beyond the current budget year timeframe.
  • Master data maintenance and process management
  • Update BOMs & routings in division data systems
  • Create 5-year plan capacity model updates
  • Set FG & WIP inventory targets by working closely with the plants and PLM group, using basic supply chain models and advanced modeling tools such as Llamasoft. Participate on divisional teams
  • Collaborate with other planners on shared asset planning
  • Planning system improvement projects
  • New product planning and introduction
  • Inventory management and cost reduction
  • Footprint optimization

 

Performance Metrics:

  • Customer Service, Inventory, Logistics, and Manufacturing cost

 

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Commercial Operations in a manufacturing company

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience using various business systems including planning, ERP, or MES
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
  • Ability to work globally and cross-functionally
  • Ability to communicate up and down the organization

 

Desired Skills:

  • Auto or other vehicle industry experience or previous experience in Corning Environmental Technologies
  • APICS or equivalent certification
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Power BI, IBP, and/or Llamasoft
