Scope of Position/Full Time Employee Purpose of Position: As a part of our Design Engineering team you will work with other engineers, commercial team members, and customers to design and development 50 Ohm RF connectivity solutions. Work will include research and development of ideas and processes for new RF connectivity products from concept through production. Improvement upon performance, design and cost position of existing products will be included. You will also have the opportunity to use your ingenuity to create new products and intellectual property for specific applications. This position requires close interaction with multiple internal departments in a team environment. The ability to work cross culturally and cross functionally is necessary. Possessing a high degree of analytical and critical thinking, creative problem solving, and strong communication skills is necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

• Apply RF design knowledge to design high performance coaxial connectors for DC to 110 GHz applications

• Design and develop RF coaxial connectors to meet industry standards and customer requirements

• Utilize 3D CAD (SolidWorks & AutoCAD) to design and model connector components and assemblies

• Validate and optimize RF performance using both simulation and physical test methods

• Analyze mechanical requirements using FEA as required

• Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal departments as part of a cross-functional team to move the product design through a phased development process

• Initiate Engineering Change Orders and New Product Releases

• Perform and document electrical and mechanical testing of prototypes

• Maintain organized project files and documentation


Job Requirements/Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Deep fundamental understanding of microwave RF coaxial connectors

• 4+ years of experience in RF connector design

• Experience in the use of 3-D Solid Modeling CAD tools (SolidWorks & AutoCAD to create designs and drawings

• Understanding and application of Geometric tolerancing (GD&T)

• Knowledge of Simulation Software such as CST

• Fluency in industry related MIL Specs

• Thorough Knowledge of manufacturing processes associated with the production of high volume connector products. Processes include machining (mill and turn), heat treating and plating
