The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Scope of Position:

  • Able to set-up and operate most Diamond Turning machines to produce a wide variety of moderately complex jobs with minimal assistance
  • Capable of utilizing toolpath generation software and form compensation software in any application during the Diamond Turning process
  • Fully capable of interferometrically testing all complex aspheric shapes
  • Resolve technical issues as they arise
  • Capable of interpreting basic GDT symbols as they apply to the Diamond Turning process
  • Utilizing all math skills as the apply to Diamond Turning
  • Assist Supervisor or Team Leader with training as necessary


Education & Experience:

  • We require a minimum of a High School diploma or GED
  • We are seeking 3+ years of ultra precision machining
  • Digital literacy in Excel and Word
  • Fluency in Geometric Tolerancing


Working Conditions:

  • Lifting of 30lbs daily and standing 50% of shift
  • Wearing Protective glasses, gloves, and lab coats
  • Exposure to chemicals: Acetone, Genesolve, Alcohol, OMS
  • Exposure to materials: Aluminum, Nickel, Zinc Sulfide, Zinc Selenide, Germanium, Silicon, Polymers, and Beryllium Copper
