  • Corning is seeking an IT Experience Senior Researcher that plans and executes design research and testing activities to create understanding and empathy around user needs. This position advocates research findings to internal stakeholders through written reports, information visualization, and presentations. The output of these research findings will inform user experience strategies and influence design refinements for all internal enterprise IT Services.



  • Conduct qualitative user interviews, workshops and tests
  • Conduct quantitative research to explain and validate findings
  • Conduct competitive research and analysis, identify industry standards and trends
  • Develop user profiles, personas, core user scenarios, and journey maps
  • Develops Action Plans from Journey Maps that will enhance the overall employee experience associated with IT Services, Tools and Platforms
  • Strategy and operational management of survey platform, Qualtrics. Including Governance and overall use of platform for IT and Enterprise
  • Development Strategy and management of ad-hoc feedback system and metrics management associated with platform
  • Development of Voice of the Customer Strategy for IT EX organization
  • Stay up-to-date with and display knowledge of market trends and best practices
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research and project planning
  • Work closely with the team to structure and conduct Proof of Concept experiments that aim to test the fit and viability of various communication and collaboration tools in the context of specific use cases and scenarios
  • Works with IT Experience Director to develop and maintain Net Promoter Scores for IT Services
  • Collaborate with Business Engagement, Service Line Owners and Enterprise Architects to ensure user demand is fed into the strategic plans for the Enterprise
  • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Mentor and develop direct reports for career growth
  • Supervision and development of direct reports



  • Bachelor’s in design or equivalent experience



  • 4+ years of experience planning, conducting, and/or communicating the findings from user research for digital products and services
  • 4+ Strategic Thinking and Execution focused experience
  • Supervisory Experience



  • Deep knowledge of an array of user research methodologies including Journey Mapping and Design Thinking
  • Ability to frame key questions, create research plans to address those, conduct research, and synthesize the findings into meaningful, actionable insights
  • Ability to design and conduct usability studies - i.e. identify potential solution options for a stated user need and design experiments that help elicit the most viable solution for users
  • Strong ability to generate and communicate compelling & actionable insights, both verbally and visually
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation
  • Design Thinking certification or equivalent
  • Six Sigma education/certification



  • Approximately 25% or as needed for business demand
