PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

Reporting directly to the Service Owner of Collaboration Services, the Senior Principal Engineer is a senior technology leader within Corning’s Information Technology division that will lead the strategy, design, implementation, and operationalization of end user productivity, collaboration, and communication services, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office 365 and related solutions.

 

This role will function as a key enabler within IT working with other stakeholders to enhance the security and compliance posture, business value and end-user experience for technology solutions used by our global workforce at Corning.

 

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads developing, maintaining, and enhancing the Collaboration Services roadmap with partnership from User Experience, Security, Compliance, Data Privacy and other stakeholder groups within the company
  • Leads the creation of technical standards, policies, guidelines, and controls for driving operational excellence within Collaboration services and related functions
  • Partner with the product manager, scrum master and other team members to collect continuous feedback about services, understand points of pains for end-users and engineer solutions to address opportunities
  • Supports critical IT projects through technical consultation, scope definition, cost benefit and analysis, technical requirements, and necessary integration/implementation assistance.
  • In partnership with various Infrastructure, Network, Compliance and Information Security functions, lead the design and implementation of productivity, collaboration and communication solutions including but not limited to; Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Viva Connect, Teams, Live Events, OneDrive, Power Automate, Power Platform, Meeting Room Solutions, Smart Boards, Holo Lens, Meeting Reservation Systems, Enterprise Telephony and other related services and solutions.
  • Effectively collaborate with various Infrastructure, Network, End User Services, Compliance and Information Security functions to design and implement advanced security, compliance solutions including but not limited to Azure AD, Multi Factor Authentication, Azure Conditional Access, Continuous Access Evaluation, Emergency Access Accounts, Data Loss Protection, Microsoft Defender, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune, Windows Auto Pilot, Exchange Online Protection, DKIM, DMARC, Azure Information protection, Customer Lockbox, Cloud App Security, Cloud Access Security Broker, External and Guess Access, Federation, Access Governance, Azure AD Privileged Identity Management, Role Based Access Control, Unified Audit Logs, Alert Policies, Privileged Access Management, Records Management, Microsoft Information Protection, eDiscovery, Microsoft Information Governance and other related Microsoft and 3rd party solutions.
  • Promote and communicate a clear and consistent vision/strategy throughout the organization – working with multiple stakeholders to achieve
  • Builds relationships that foster collaboration and partnerships to drive better strategies, priorities, and service to the customer
  • Mentors fellow team members to enhance collaboration technology and operational delivery skills

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management Systems, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree
  • Minimum of three or more Microsoft Certifications in Office 365, SharePoint, Power Platform or Azure
  • 7+ years of experience in developing technology strategy, design, architecture and roadmap, and leading system configuration, product/capability rollout and administration for a large and/or complex multi-Business unit global organization of 20,000 or more employees, with a focus on
  • Microsoft Office 365 and other enterprise collaboration tools like OneDrive, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, VIVA Connect, Power Apps and Power Automate o Enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting services and cloud infrastructure
  • Meeting solutions like Cisco Webex, Smart Boards, Surface Hubs, Room Reservation Systems, Microsoft Teams Rooms and InterOp solutions
  • Enterprise Telephony solutions
  • Unified Mobile and Compute Device Deployment and Management solutions like Windows Auto Pilot, Intune, JAMF and Microsoft Endpoint Manager
  • Desktop Virtualization solutions including Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop or Amazon Workspace.
  • Device Installation and deployment solutions
  • Advanced identity, security, and compliance solutions. 
  • Advanced networking configurations and solutions for effective media traffic routing, high call quality and minimal latency for cloud apps.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Expert level understanding of Microsoft's 365 capabilities available within the various subscription plans
  • Expert level understanding of end-user lifecycle including onboarding, access provisioning, access upgrades/downgrades, and deprovisioning for M365 technology solutions • Expert level engineering and administration skills for Exchange Online, Teams, One Drive, Microsoft Apps for Enterprise, SharePoint Online, Viva Connect, Power Platform and other related Microsoft M365 applications, capabilities, and solutions.
  • Expert level experience with designing, architecting and implementing Microsoft’s advanced security, compliance and end-user solutions including Azure AD, Multi Factor Authentication, Azure Conditional Access, Continuous Access Evaluation, Emergency Access Accounts, Data Loss Protection, Microsoft Defender, Exchange Online Protection, DKIM, DMARC, Azure Information protection, Customer Lockbox, Cloud App Security, Cloud Access Security Broker, External and Guess Access, Federation, Access Governance, Azure AD Privileged Identity Management, Role Based Access Control, Unified Audit Logs, Alert Policies, Privileged Access Management, Records Management, Microsoft Information Protection, eDiscovery, Microsoft Information Governance and other related Microsoft and 3rd party solutions.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong experience in creating and maintaining Collaboration Reference Architectures and Roadmaps
  • Experience with third party identity management solutions like SailPoint, NetIQ, Okta etc.
  • Experience with data analytics, designing and implementing dashboards for understanding device telemetry, product deployment and utilization, license utilization and compliance.
  • Experience with Azure or AWS technologies such as Azure Functions, APIM, Cosmos DB, Redis, Service Bus.
  • Experience with development of new services and operationalizing services
  • Willing and able to self-learn new technology and components
