Purpose of New Position

To support, implement, and maintain Lean/Kaizen initiatives at HCF for Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale, and Safety.



  • Continuous attention to safety; Create a safe working culture & environment 
  • Support Lean principles and efforts in the Trivium facility 
  • Be a “Lean Liaison” to the operations groups; Provide information, obtain feedback, & continue developing relationships to further contribute to an atmosphere open to change (on each shift)
  • Develop and implement 5S standards as equipment is installed and the plant ramps
  • Assist in the education of plant personnel on lean principles
  • Support/implement any project linked to Lean/Kaizen initiatives; Examples include 5S events, value stream activities, product flow improvements, work standardization, and kaizen projects 
  • Be a proactive driver for Kaizen (Continuous Improvement); Examples include: Provide information, identify opportunities, “Recruit” employees to implement Kaizens, “Coach” employees on system guidelines, develop standards for plant-wide themes, lead “Small Group Kaizens”, and assist with Kaizen completion as needed


Work Hours & Expectations

  • Typical work schedule is 40 hours Monday through Friday
  • Work may require limited overtime; Typical work schedule is dayshift, but will require support on each shift; Work schedules will be jointly agreed upon by the employee and the Lean leader
  • Work is anticipated with the HCP, NCP, and WCP plants (occasional travel between plants)


Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
  • Must not be in progressive discipline process; Dependability as reflected in attendance records 
  • Previous Lean experience is preferred Required Skills 
  • Strong commitment to enhancing safety culture 
  • Ability to convey and obtain buy-in from others on new concepts 
  • Strong project and time management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement efforts (Kaizen, 5S); Good facilitator skills 
  • Able to work within a team environment and collaborate across organizational boundaries to organize activities 
  • Results oriented, understand urgency of deadlines, and follow tasks to completion 
  • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, & interpersonal skills
  • Effective in managing multiple priorities / tasks and managing time effectively 
  • Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and good planning / organization skills
  • Certified and experienced Manufacturing Associate; Broad understanding of plant operations 
  • Proficiency with standard computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
