Description:

Provide technical and administrative support in identifying and implementing innovative automate/semi-automated manufacturing technologies.

 

Perform task related to CAD design, build, assembly, programming, documentation, and validation of components or complete automated or semi-automated measurement systems.

 

Manage projects under appropriate supervision and direction from responsible engineer or supervisor.

 

Responsibilities:

       General      

  • Individual contributor, lead or team member with clear direction provided by responsible Engineer or Supervisor, with ownership of a significant part of the accomplishment within the assignment. Low supervision is required to manage complex scope projects/work streams/process issues with many variables and stakeholders.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects or provide support on projects, performing technical and administrative task such as design, build, assembly, programming, and validation of components or complete automated or semi-automated measurement system
  • Assembly/disassembly equipment as needed to repair failures in a component or system
  • Root cause analysis and problem solving for failure in a component or system during development or at manufacturing areas; propose and implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Use continuous improvement methodologies and basic statistical tools to perform manufacturing process data analysis
  • Develop/update technical and operational documentation for equipment’s (BoM’s and Master Documentation)
  • Quote components or complete automated or semi-automated measurement systems
  • Work on continuous improvement projects, cost reduction, developing error proofing mechanisms for manufacturing process controls
  • Keep the inventory organized and work area clean to support 5S implementation to achieve internal department goals
  • Propose and implement iKaizen and Safety Kaizen (ergonomic devices and processes) to enable a safe work environment
  • Able to train, coach, and mentor fellow employees in areas pertaining to the job responsibilities
  • Capable of learning department’s knowledge and capability, along with commercially available machine / motion control systems, system integration, part sensing, and other applicable technologies.

Education

  • A Technical or under grade degree is required in one of the following disciplines: Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.

Work Experience

  • 3-5-year experience in similar position or manufacturing engineering environment is required.
  • Minimum 2-3-year experience in maintenance or engineering area supporting test equipment manufacturing process.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in engineering area dedicated to developing manufacturing process solution focus on (error proofing development, customer notification preventive actions, etc.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Pro-Engineer, CREO Parametrics, etc.
  • Knowledge of Structured Text and ladder logic development for PLC's
  • Strong knowledge and usage of electrical, electronic diagrams
  • Experience in troubleshooting of electronic, mechanical, and Pneumatic systems
  • Experience in usage of machine shop tools and basic machinery
  • Ambition and ability to independently fill gaps in knowledge and expertise through self-guided learning.
  • Basic knowledge in project management
  •  Basic understanding on continuous improvement tools and methodology
  •  Self-starter who can meet expectations for their objectives and timelines with a minimal supervision
  •  Technical English skills (proper understanding and usage of technical documents, manuals, diagrams, operational documents, etc.) 

Soft Skills:

  • English and Spanish writing and speaking fluency as well awareness of global cultural behaviors
  • Ability to work closely with internal customers around the world to meet their requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with ambition for technical growth.

    Desired:
  • Green Belt certificate
  • Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Pro-Engineer, CREO Parametric, etc.
  • Proficient in microcontroller and PLC programing
  • Project Management skills using a methodology
  • Communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills
