Scope of Position:

  • Responsible for first level IT technical support for manufacturing systems computers at the plant as well as other associated hardware
  • Responsible for the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of desktops and related systems
  • Performs all installations, upgrades and backups of S/W and H/W applications
  • Troubleshoots network problems when they relate to the desktop
  • Responds to and resolves trouble tickets
  • Proposes and implements solutions to routine problems with direction from supervisor
  • Gathers information and/or data independently using established and well defined procedures
  • The position will also participate in projects to meet the plant's objectives, drive cost reduction efforts and participate in capacity expansion efforts.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Assist team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operation. Work with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces.
  • Support process and product optimization/improvement efforts.
  • Acquisition, installation, maintenance and use of desktop technology.
  • Respond to cases in specified support queues.
  • Provide training for engineers and/or production associates as needed for new processes, equipment, or control systems.
  • Participate in capital projects.
  • Some after hour, on-call support may be needed.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum: Technical School – IT, Electronics.
  • 3+ years of experience


Required Skills:

  • General knowledge of Cisco CLI
  • Interact with vendors, identifying sourcing for components
  • General Windows PC support for production equipment
  • Imaging and setup of new PC systems
  • Application knowledge in the areas of Office suites, email applications (Outlook)
  • Hardware knowledge in the areas of Personal Computers
  • Windows scripting
  • Peripheral support, Touchscreens, thermal printers, barcode readers etc….
  • Intermediate English knowledge


Desired Skills:

  • iFIX, EthernetIP I/O, Microsoft Office. Real time controls systems, experience with motion systems
  • Ability to read schematics
  • General knowledge of computer networking – PC to network printer, server, etc.
  • General knowledge of computer hardware – PC, Monitor, Printers
  • General knowledge of mobile technology – cell phones, iPhones
  • Low voltage control systems 24v AI, DO, Thermocouples etc….
  • Point to point troubleshooting
  • IT Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering degree.
  • Previous experience in PC Hardware/Equipment Troubleshooting will be a plus

  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated, Independent, High Initiative
