Job Description:

 The Systems Engineering Lead is responsible for building and driving the Systems Engineering team in India and assuring the highest quality Systems Engineering deliverables. As an experienced systems engineer, the incumbent will participate in the design, development, and maintenance of Corning’s 5G radio access network and related subsystems in collaboration with the global Corning Wireless Systems Engineering teams. The role demands strong work ethic, leadership skills, drive, responsiveness, and eagerness to learn. Good communication and team working skills are a must.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in global Corning Wireless system architecture and RAN solution design, associated reviews and provide peer feedback.

• Participate project planning including resource and timeline estimation

• Provide leadership and guidance for the Corning Wireless Gurgaon site Systems Engineer team

• Convert RAN solution designs into system specifications, software requirement documents and high-level design documents.

• Requirements Management: Perform impact analysis of changes to the requirements.

• Design process support: Support software development teams during high level design phase to ensure requirements compliance.

• Verification and Validation process support: Provide guidance and lead integration efforts as required to ensure full systems requirements are met and product meets specifications.

• Plan and analyze link and system level radio access simulations

• Provide system engineering support for internal wireless and platform software development teams in implementing new and improved RAN features and algorithms Technical Skills Required

Experience

o 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience in developing system requirements, system specifications, and high-level design o Strong knowledge in many of the following areas: Mobile Communication systems, 4G, 5G, Radio Access Networks, 3GPP RAN architecture & protocols, ORAN RAN architecture and protocols, IP networking, TCP/UDP protocols, Ethernet switching, RAN Layer 3, RAN Layer 2, RAN Layer 1, Link & system simulations, RAN L1, L2 & L3 algorithms, Radio Frequency (RF) systems, Radio Resource Management (RRM), Self-Organizing Networks (SON) and Management Systems o Hands-on experience and knowledge in virtual infrastructure software design, including Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, and OpenStack

o Hands-on experience and working knowledge in systems security

o End-to-end multi-disciplinary System Integration experience

o Ability to develop and use link and system level simulation tools o Hands on experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting lab system setups involving servers, Linux, software functions, switches, RF components, signal and spectrum analyzers

o Understanding and track record in development experience with UMTS, LTE and/or NR radio interface protocols.

 SW and Programming Skills

o Strong in embedded C and C++

o System level knowledge in Linux

o Stellar debugging skills using various debugging tools

 

Product Dev. Process & Environment

o Proactive problem solver with attention to detail and methodical approach to systems engineering. o Well-versed in system design and development best practices

o Experience of working in an Agile product development environment (DevOps)
