Scope of Position:

The Materials Control Coordinator position is a new role within the Corning Fairport Supply Chain. An enthusiastic self-starter with a strong drive to improve existing processes and systems is highly desired. The Materials Control Coordinator is responsible for assisting with material flow processes in support of the Planning Team.


  • Work with Quality, Operations, and Planning Team on defective materials disposition and status
  • Monitor fall out
  • Prioritize and/or provide need dates to Quality
  • Monitor status of rework orders in departments
  • Provide projected completion dates to Planners
  • Participate on behalf of the Planning Team in the MRB/RTV process and communicate to the Planning Team on any instances impacting department schedules, ensure actions are completed and inventory in the MRP system is accurate.
  • Monitor incoming material flow for parts and approve/process orders appropriately
  • Monitor internal cleaning process orders and inventory to avoid shortages that impact production schedules.
  • Provide priority to cleaning department or Purchasing as needed.
  • Communicate with Engineering/Operations to get Evaluation Dates for the Return Orders to support the RMA process.
  • Support Planners/Stockroom with printing of work orders and picks.
  • Miscellaneous tasks and projects as assigned.


  • We require a minimum of an Associates Degree or comparable experience
  • We are seeking a 2+ years of manufacturing experience and/or production planning
  • ERP/MRP experience
  • Strong demonstrated understanding of MRP and inventory management systems
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (oral & written) and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
  • Customer focused, detailed oriented and effective problem solver
  • Able to work in a team environment


  • ExactMAX experience preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
