Scope of position:

• Assure Corning ́s 1HR strategy execution: Right people - right place - right time.

• HR manager for Corning Gosselin plant and business partner for the plant manager and the plant staff

• Responsibility for the payroll including tax & social insurances & data steward tasks in France

• Partnership with all hierarchy levels and the EMEA HR team

• Ensure a collaborative work relation with the local works council & unionist

• Support the client group in establishing and maintaining a positive work environment including Corning’s Values and the Code of Conduct

• Assist in achieving or beating the budget objectives in support of top quartile performance objectives while maintaining appropriate level of HR service delivery

• Scale the type and level of HR service provided to client groups in anticipation of the specific needs of the division’s business portfolio and in conjunction with the business strategy

• Ensure the successful implementation and execution of global HR business processes

• Drive training, development of talents and employer branding initiatives


Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Identify and prioritize the plant ́s current and future talent requirements which have an effect on the operational objectives

• Partner with the Talent Acquisition Team and the hiring managers to identify and implement a compelling employee value proposition

• Cooperate with managers to identify employees’ development gaps and implement targeted development plans that addresses these gaps in a timely manner

• Maintain performance management and reward processes / practices to drive required levels of employee accountability for performance results and ensure retention of talents

• Point of contact for all topics around employee relations including works council

• Coach managers and supervisors in developing, implementing and maintaining a positive work environment

• Manage training and development activities including training needs analysis, training plan development and deployment.

• Manage & maintain programs to support a strong talent pipeline


Travel Requirements: EMEA 10% of time


Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organization Development, labor relations or equivalent.

• Master’s degree in related area and/or HR certifications is a benefit


Required Years and Area of Experience:

At least 5 years of HR experience; preferred in a Manufacturing environment; experience in an international company


Required Skills:

• Fluent in English (verbal and written)

• Fundamental knowledge of French labor law and codetermination

• Solid understanding of French social insurance system related to payroll & tax
