Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the plant's manufacturing equipment, building, and grounds. Performs work in support of lead technician or more experienced maintenance technicians.

This position includes significant duties such as:

• Troubleshoots and corrects equipment and facilities problems

• Reads and interprets various types of mechanical tables and drawings including mechanical schematics, piping schematics, and pneumatic schematics

• Ensures safe and effective operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance based on schedule

• Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications

• Installs piping and mounts for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors, HVAC systems, and steam generation systems

• Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers

• Replaces faulty mechanical components of equipment such as valves, flow regulators, motors, and HVAC regulating devices

• Mounts and conducts pump and motor alignments, torque checks; sizes O-rings; conducts and documents inspections

• Detects potential failures/issues and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement

• Responsible for general facility maintenance and repair in office and production areas

• Performs routine building repairs such as replacing light bulbs, repairing drywall, painting, fixing plumbing leaks, etc.

• Models safe behavior

• Actively participates in personal development and continuous learning

• Works to achieve compliance goals in a timely manner (training, PMs etc.)

Working Conditions:

  • Somewhat disagreeable working conditions such as dusty/dirty areas, work at heights, in tight spaces, occasionally outdoors in all weather conditions, in refrigerated areas, hot/humid conditions, and cleanroom.
  • Occasionally works with chemicals, cleaners, and solvents.

Education/Experience Requires High School Degree or equivalent. Requires 1-3 years’ relevant experience in a skilled trade or other related mechanical work. Communicates effectively (Verbal, Written)
