For our European Life Sciences-Team in Amsterdam, we are looking for a
Product Manager Life Sciences - Remote (m/f/d)
Purpose of Position: The purpose of this position is to provide increased sales and market penetration of assigned product ranges in existing and new customer accounts by defining and deploying the product marketing strategy and tactics. The position also requires Product Management support to our customers and sales organization as well as product administration tasks.
Products focus: 3D cell culture, Media and Consumables. CLS portfolio assignments may change in the future for business efficiency purpose.
Region: It’s expected from the product manager to support the assigned product ranges, customers and sales team within Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Major Responsibilities:
- As part of the European Business Operation Organization, he/she will contribute to the growth of his/her attributed product range.
- Set the portfolio strategic plan and tactics and execute them to grow our share in the competitive environment and define the appropriate actions (e.g., commercial segment focus, communication plan, promotional activities for both direct sales force and distributors…).
- Define pricing strategies for new and existing products.
- Develop and maintain an active liaison in between the European Business Operation organization and his/her counterpart in the Global PLM teams.
- Execute against targets in close collaboration with the commercial counterparts.
- Ensure the administration tasks related to the product ranges.
- Participate to tradeshows and conferences in support to the sales team.
- Look at co-marketing activities and new market opportunities within the industry.
Ongoing Tasks:
- Develop regional product strategies by:
- Collecting VOC in collaboration with the sales team.
- Working closely with the sales team to collect their opinion on market trends and needs.
- Getting the European market trends and input into the Global strategies.
- Articulate European strategy by portfolio and guide execution via the different functions.
- Interact on the regular basis with the US Product Managers to:
- Communicate European market data, trends and demand.
- Get access to all products & strategy related information and be able to communicate within the European organization.
- Product administration:
- Set-up, discontinuations.
- MTO logistics and processes.
- Participate in new product launch preparation.
- Coordinate New product launch within the regional organization (Commercial, Application, Customer Experience) and externally (dealers).
- Collect VOC about new product projects, market prices, in collaboration with the sales team.
- Participate to maintain the product master data base clean and accurate by working closely with the MDF administrator.
- Collect market/opportunities information from the sales team to reflect them in an accurate demand forecast to better serve end-users (active participation into forecasting systems and meetings).
- Product complaint handling (in collaboration with Quality department, Customer Experience, Operations).
- Slow moving item meetings & decisions.
- Provide training to the sales organization, distribution and technical/customer services personnel.
- Make her/himself able to actively participate to tradeshows, exhibitions or conferences defined as key for the product range.
- May be asked to join the sales team to customer visits to solve product related issues or define MTO needs.

- Accidents must be reported immediately to your supervisor.
- Hazardous conditions or other health and safety concerns should be corrected by employees whenever possible. If the employee is unable to correct the issue, the issue should be reported to the supervisor immediately.
Key Decision Areas:
- Define Product Line marketing strategy and ensure implementation of the tactical plans.
- Select which products and solutions to promote at different market segments – in line with the European commercial strategy Criteria for Performance Evaluation.
- Revenue and margin performance of assigned product ranges.
- New Product performance of respective portfolio.
- Overall commercial performance of CLS-EMEA.
- Demand forecast accuracy.
- Quality and punctuality of reporting and feedback.
Education & Experience:
- Recent (less than 3years) master’s degree (or equivalent research experience) in life sciences or strong commercial background in the Life Sciences industry.
- 2-5 years customer-facing experience (commercial or technical).
- International experience would be a plus.
- Ability to travel within the region 25% of time and work remotely.
- Familiarity with equipment/PCs and major software (Word, Excel, database software).
Required skills:
