Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

    • Scope of the role is the OCS manufacturing facilities in the Americas
    • Manufacturing information expert and interface for engineering, operations and business leaders

Key Responsibilities

  •  
  • The position will be responsible for analysis, design, development, implement and maintain global reporting systems for the OCS manufacturing environment. In this capacity, he/she will work closely with engineering, operations and business leaders in the OCS plants to deliver manufacturing information.
  • The person will become the expert for the MI reporting system in their area of responsibility along with ancillary data feeds to reporting systems.
  • Maintain close relationships with business personnel to understand changing business requirements and drive adoption to standard reporting practices.

Education

  • B.S. in Computer Science / Management Information Systems / IT Related field
  • 4+ years of combined experience in IT

Experiences Desired

  • Self-discipline and motivation.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across multiple regions.
  • Process oriented and customer focused.
  • Able to communicate with engineers, production associates, managers and business leaders.    
  • Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated track record of on time delivery within budget; ability to drive projects to successful conclusion using influencing tools
  • Ability to lead international teams across multiple initiatives that span various lines of business, geographic borders, time zones, and cultures
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others
  • Experience creating manufacturing reports
  • Experience with SQL reporting services
  • Experience with PowerBI
