Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Purpose of Position.  

 

This position is for Monterrey Plant

Optimize automated systems,handling troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancements. Use your technical skills to solve diverse challenges, analyze data, and improve automation reliability, boosting operational efficiency. 

 

Major responsibilities and tasks of the position. 

  • Validates equipment Designs, through equipment integration  

  • Support administrative tasks, such as documenting and releasing equipment (MPIs, VAs, EEM, deviations, variances, waivers, etc), Operational manuals, schematics, improving or developing safety and ergonomics guidelines for equipment use 

  • Support equipment, prototypes, integration, measurement, validation, wiring, programming, testing  

  • Provides equipment Performance Feedback, prepares training documents  

  • Correlates inputs/outputs, providing a report to the team for further analysis   

  • Assist on new equipment and consumables BOM creation, max min upload (on platforms and systems)  

  • Participate on problem solving and RCA on all assignments  

  • Applies process engineering knowledge, skills, and expertise from concept through delivery of Automation and fixturing at production areas 

  • Work on problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors 

  • Propose and implement iKaizens and Safety Kaizens    

 

Education.  

 

  • Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Engineering Technical Degree 

                 

Work Experience 

  • 2-4 years of experience in technical manufacturing engineering in a multi-product manufacturing environment providing support through Statistical Process Control  

  • 2 years of Equipment development and Integration experience 

  •  Yellow/Green Belt Training 

  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge 

  • Demonstrated history of positive people skills showing courtesy, tact, and understanding in interactions with coworkers, even under stressful circumstances 

  • 5’S knowledge 

  • Professional knowledge of MS Office (particularly MS Excel software, MS Word, SPC XL desired, Visual Basic a plus) 

  • Measurement skills 

  • Drawing interpretation 

  • Schematic interpretation 

  • Electrical, valves, actuators, and sensors Basic knowledge 

  • PLC program interpretation and adequation 

  • Electrical, pneumatic troubleshooting  

  • Mechanical System understanding  

  • Parametric SW proficiency (SolidWorks, CREO, ProE, Auto Cad, CATIA, Autodesk
