Controls technician on new Monterrey plant, focused in the Cable manufacturing process. with strong linkages to MOB and capacity increase projects.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical and controls engineering and equipment technical expertise in fiber optic cable manufacturing in support of production, maintenance, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and productivity improvements.

  • Serve as a resource for in-depth troubleshooting of production equipment & processes

  • Provide technical support when maintenance requirements exceed electrical associate capabilities.

  • Actively participate in all phases of projects including design, fabrication, off-line integration and testing, installation, production start-up support, training of plant personnel and technology transfer. Individual must be capable of executing project assignments, in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision

  • Provide on-call & weekend support as needed

 

Required Education:

  • Technical degree


Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in a controls technician role or other similar function

  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety systems

  • Knowledge of controls systems design, programming, and systems integration

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • English not required.

 

Desired Skills:

  •  Rockwell Studio 5000 experience

  • GE iFIX experience

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Familiarity with extrusion

  • Continuous process improvement experience

  • Experience with Excel and OSIsoft PI
