What is your role?
As an External Manufacturing Project Manager, you will lead critical projects with contract manufacturing partners and key suppliers to support business growth, operational efficiency, and cost optimization within the OCS Division. You will collaborate globally with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Global Supply Management (GSM), and Quality teams to ensure successful project execution throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage key projects with external manufacturing partners and strategic suppliers to ensure successful delivery of critical business objectives.
- Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory data to optimize supply chain performance while supporting revenue targets.
- Manage and maintain product-related information, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), Approved Vendor Lists (AVL), process maps, and associated data.
- Support products throughout the entire lifecycle, from design and New Product Introduction (NPI) through volume manufacturing and End-of-Life (EOL).
- Develop and maintain project metrics, dashboards, and scorecards to measure execution effectiveness and project performance.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to drive alignment, manage risks, and ensure successful project implementation.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering environments.
- Proven project management experience, including at least 5 years leading major global projects.
- Strong understanding of Product Structures, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Approved Vendor Lists (AVL).
- Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) and ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify opportunities, and drive action plans.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working across multiple cultures, regions, and time zones.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global, matrixed organization.
- Results-driven mindset with strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel up to 35%, including domestic and international travel
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Advanced degree in Engineering or applied science
- Black Belt certification
