Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Purpose of Position:     

As a Maintenance Engineer, your expertise will be vital in maintaining optimal performance, preventing downtime, and contributing to the overall productivity of the company. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, implementing preventive maintenance plans, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support our operational objectives.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in maintenance engineering roles.
  • Proven track record of diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software and tools.
  • English - conversational level.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles for process improvement
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and other technical problems on production machinery and facility systems.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance services when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including performed tasks, parts used, and repairs conducted.
  • Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Key performance indicators management such as M TBF, TTR, OEE
