Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
About the role:
Corning Inc. is seeking a Planning Manager to join our Global Supply Chain Integrated Planning transformation. As a key player in our Supply Chain Integrated Planning Transformation, you'll collaborate with Global Process Owners (GPO) to develop and implement Corning’s Global supply chain planning work processes, standards, and tools.
In the initial 9 to 18 months, you will co-lead the creation of Corning’s Integrated Planning Standards. This role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of supply chain work processes and standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish efficient planning workflows.
After 9-18 your role will evolve into a Planning Operational leadership position. You will lead and develop a team of planners, physical and information flows across the End-To-End (E2E) operations value chain and optimize supply chain operations to meet customer demand while minimizing costs.
Requirements Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field. Master’s degree and professional certification (e.g., APICS, CSCP) are preferred

Minimum of 10+ years of experience in supply chain planning, logistics, inventory management, or a related field

Experience with SIOP demand and supply planning.

Ability to build and lead teams to deliver results

Excel in talent development, conflict resolution, and promoting a culture of operational discipline, driving both operational efficiency and long-term success

Proficiency in S4 / Hana / APO / IBP

Proven ability to build a strategic plan and execute it effectively

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Key Responsibilities:

Co-lead the creation of Corning’s Integrated Planning Standards

Lead the design, development, and implementation of the supply chain planning work processes

Develop short, mid, and long-term supply plans to meet customer demand

Implement inventory control policies and procedures
-
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to senior management

Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the supply chain
