Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Do product evaluation testing to verify conformance to requirements                  

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of test specifications and programs.
  •  Do dimensional and other physical tests.
  •  Record test results. Follow up with responsible employee.
  •  Maintain equipment in good working order.                                       
  •  Prioritization of test requests.
  •  Proper equipment and settings for each part tested.                        

Experiences/Education - Required

Education.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent                                                

Work Experience.

  • Knowledge of measurement equipment.
  • Experience in reading drawings.
  • Experience in ISO 9001, TL 9000 is a plus.
  • Prior experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SPC is a plus                                         

Experiences/Education - Desired

Additional Skills.

  • Fully bilingual.
  • Knowledge of measurement equipment.                                        

Extraordinary Activities.

  • Contribute and participate in Internal and External Audits in department, as well as being responsible for the good results of such. Some examples of Audits are: ISO, TL, 5's, Safety, Sarbox, among others.
