Role Purpose
Corning Shared Services (CSS) supports Corning’s global operations and delivers profitable growth through evolving processes, ensuring compliance, and executing vital transactions. The CSS Supervisor, RTP, Americas will be responsible for leading the Requisition-to-Pay team in day-to-day Accounts Payable (AP) and AP Support transactions. This person must be process and controls oriented, open minded, continuous improvement focused, and able to motivate the team for a high level of performance.
Scope of Position:
- Ensures adherence to CSS Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Risk Control Matrices (RCMs), and drives continuous and controlled improvement processes throughout span of responsibilities
- Supervisory responsibility for the North America RTP Team
- Drives prioritization and clarity in day-to-day tasks for team
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures that all RTP tasks are delivered as per the requirements of SLA, Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs), and Corning policies
- Lead team and day-to-day RTP Operations
- Responsible for daily RCM enforcement/monitoring
- Has point on internal and external RTP audits
- Assist with complex operational tasks such as payments, audits, tax processing, etc.
- Develop and maintain KPI’s that measure system, process, and team
- Escalation point for ERP related payment issues
- Prepares ad-hoc and regular analysis as requested by Stream Manager
- Takes responsibilities in scope of improvement projects
Additional Responsibilities
- Champions PEX and Process Improvements
- Always be ready to support Corning’s evolving businesses
- Eliminate 100% manual processing of today’s standard service transactions
- Be a thought leader in digital transformation leading with DSaaS – in and out of Corning
- Challenge and lead team to identify, implement, and adopt digital and PEx solutions including RPA, Macros, and other Digital Operations capabilities to achieve increased efficiencies and effectiveness
- Proactively communicates to team, colleagues, and leadership and relevant topics
- Engages regularly with Issue Resolution Operations to ensure effective process execution at friction points in the process
- Subsequently works collaboratively to partner in root-cause/preventative actions to eliminate friction points
- Escalate issues as appropriate to ensure timely and effective resolution
People Management Responsibilities include
- Monitors the day to day work of the RTP Team
- Assist RTP Manager in resource planning and development activities
- Tracks direct report’s development and updates their skill matrix
- Regularly has one-to-ones with team members
- Coaches, motivates, and supports team members for their continuous development
- Interviews candidates and takes part in evaluation process
- Cooperates with HR and RTP Leadership for developing and monitoring training plans and their completeness.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree required
- People supervisory or management experience required
- Relevant (or equivalent) work experience in RTP/AP Operations
- Ability to grow a team and develop individuals
- Problem solving, analytical skills, exceptional follow through
- Initiative and effectively manages self and team through a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interface at all levels within the organization and instill confidence and trust
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and/or Project
- Process improvement experience
- Ability to prioritize work to meet deliverables/timelines in an effective manner
- Ability to supervise and lead a large team
- SOX compliance
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Understanding of Shared Services operations
- Green Belt certification
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills needed to brief high-level management
- Leadership skills to engage business leadership and leverage talent in a matrix organization
- Flexibility to adapt to changing environment; be a change agent to help others through change
