Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
JOB TITLE: Digital Solutions Engineer Sr JOB TITLE Regional Industrial Engineering Manager SUPERVISOR: DEPARTMENT: Human Resources LOCATION: Monterrey 1. Purpose of Position. The Senior Digital Solutions Engineer leads the design and implementation of innovative digital solutions that integrate software, hardware, and data technologies to enable smart manufacturing and operational excellence. This role drives digital transformation by developing scalable applications, IoT systems, and automation frameworks that connect machines, data, and people. The Senior Engineer also mentors junior engineers and ensures alignment between technical solutions and strategic business objectives. 2. Mention the major responsibilities and tasks of the position. • Architect and develop end-to-end digital systems integrating IoT sensors, edge devices, and cloud infrastructure. • Design and deploy enterprise applications using Microsoft Power Platform, Python, and other programming tools. • Lead automation projects and RPA implementations to streamline operational processes and reduce manual effort. • Integrate hardware and software components, ensuring seamless data flow between systems (IoT, ERP, MES, and analytics platforms). • Define technology standards, best practices, and governance for digital initiatives. • Evaluate, select, and implement emerging technologies such as AI, computer vision, and machine learning to enhance digital capabilities. • Manage digital project lifecycles—from concept to deployment—ensuring scalability, security, and business impact. • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, IT, engineering, and business teams to identify digitalization opportunities. • Optimize system performance and ensure reliability, cybersecurity, and compliance with corporate IT standards. • Mentor junior engineers and support capability building in digital technologies. 3. List the two most complex decisions indicative of this function and its impact to the function, department and/or corporation. 1. Defining the technology roadmap and selecting architectures that balance innovation, cost, and maintainability—directly influencing the company’s digital maturity. 2. Designing and deploying integrated IoT and automation solutions that impact real-time production data accuracy and operational efficiency across multiple sites. 4. Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements. A. Education. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master in Computer Science, or related field B. Work Experience. 6-9 years of experience in software development, digitalization projects, or automation engineering. C. Additional Skills. • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI). • Proficiency in Python, C#, or JavaScript for automation and application development. • Strong understanding of IoT ecosystems, edge computing, and cloud integration (Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, Google IoT). • Experience with Databricks, APIs, and system integrations with ERP/MES. • Knowledge of computer vision and AI/ML technologies. • Solid foundation in cybersecurity for digital and IoT systems. • Experience managing cross-functional projects and vendor relationships. • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. • English proficiency (spoken and written). • Strong understanding of digital twin technologies. • Desired: Familiarity with SAP and digital twin technologies.

US Salaried:
The range for this position is $27,260.00 - $37,482.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
US Union Free Hourly:
The range for this position is $27,260.00 hourly rate - $34,074.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
US Union Hourly:
The starting pay for this position is $27,260.00 hourly rate. Compensation and benefits available for this position are dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
US Intern:
The range for this position is $27,260.00 - $37,482.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
