What is your role?
As a Senior Lean Engineer, you will serve as a change agent responsible for promoting cost savings, operational excellence, and Lean transformation across the plant. You will support the implementation of Lean initiatives, guide cross-functional teams, and drive projects that improve productivity, efficiency, and overall business performance.
You will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Production, and Performance Excellence teams to standardize Lean methodologies, develop long-term improvement strategies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of improvement projects across multiple business units and functions.
• Develop and maintain a 3 to 5-year Lean roadmap aligned with plant objectives and strategic priorities.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Lean methodologies.
• Promote Lean transformation by selecting and implementing appropriate Lean tools to support long-term business goals.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to leadership regarding status, risks, and action plans.
• Develop and deliver professional presentations in both English and Spanish to communicate project results and recommendations.
• Ensure Lean best practices and lessons learned are effectively implemented across all applicable functions and departments.
• Provide coaching and guidance on Lean Six Sigma methodologies and problem-solving tools for complex business challenges.
• Lead and influence project teams to achieve results and sustain improvements.
• Drive corrective actions and implement recovery plans when projects deviate from expected results.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in Lean Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, or related disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using DMAIC tools.
- Ability to analyze data from multiple sources and convert information into meaningful reports and visualizations.
- Advanced communication and presentation skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams without direct authority.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and production operations.
Experiences/Education - Desired
• Experience creating and executing Lean transformation roadmaps.
• Expertise in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Lean deployment strategies.
• Demonstrated success delivering measurable cost savings and operational improvements.
• Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Strong leadership and change management capabilities.
• Ability to establish SMART goals and drive accountability across teams.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented mindset.
