Sr. Network Automation Engineer

Purpose of the position:

Automate network devices and solutions to align with Corning’s technology standards and meet the connectivity needs of our businesses. Advanced cloud platform proficiency and strong experience with infrastructure-as-code, with emphasis on Ansible, Terraform and desire to apply automation to all aspects of network cloud administration. 

Responsibilities

•     Solid understanding of multi-account and multi-region network topology and routing with contribution to overall architecture including intra-DC, Inter-DC and Internet Connectivity.  
•     Provides advanced level engineering design functions 
•     Provides trouble resolution and serves as point of technical escalation on complex problems. 
•     Creates presentations and seeks IT and business management approval and acceptance of significant replacements or reconfigurations of major cloud and network technologies serving the enterprise. 
•     Act as technical leader and provide technical guidance to fellow engineers within the organization.  
•     Comprehensive knowledge of AWS and Azure Cloud networking. 
•     Advance knowledge with Infrastructure as Code and desire to apply automation to all aspects of the network cloud administration and operations. 
•     Test, implement, document and support network solutions including LAN, WAN and Cloud.  For these services the candidate will be: 
•     Documenting technical requirements as part of overall network solutions design. 
•     Design multi-region, multi-cloud network automation and services 
•     Creating, reviewing and/or vetting technical functional specifications and low-level network solutions design documentation, ensuring those are complete, correct and kept current 
•     Assisting with implementation of upgrades and enhancements to WAN services, including communications, preparation of documentation and training 
•     Participating in root cause analysis on incidents, helping to drive identification of preventative actions meant to ensure problems don't recur, and delivering on the tasks within those actions.

Education

• 4-year degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Experience:

• 7+ years of experience analyzing requirements for implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting network devices/functions/tools/processes in a large enterprise or Telecommunications environment 
• 5+ years performing network automation deployments in large enterprise environment.
