Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Develops technical strategies and structures systems or provides business practice solutions. Develops and recommends solutions and strategies for technical problems based on the analysis of the customer's business goals, objectives, needs, and existing systems and infrastructure. Participates in sales and proposal presentations in addition to ongoing team activities. Often viewed as a consultant, may identify additional product/service opportunities. Ensures compliance with established procedures with the discretion to make minimal revisions to respond to atypical situations. Routine work is reviewed on a regular basis and all deviances are cleared for soundness of judgment. Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees. Oversees ongoing operations through direct supervision, review of logs and reports from colleagues and subordinates. Directs daily activities and reassesses staff to ensure efficient operations. Ensures that work targets and schedules are met. Implements solutions to minor schedule delays and reports actions to supervisor. Errors result in modest delays. Cooperates with others at the same level and one level above and below to ensure continuity and efficiency. External contacts are unusual and involve sharing and receiving information for day-to-day activities.

Responsabilities

  • To understand and comply with the Quality and Environmental, Health and Safety Policies.
  • Coordinate with the corresponding departments for the preparation and completion of shipments correctly.
  • Service production in the most agile and effective way possible to meet the production plan.
  • Manage the organization and control of warehouse personnel, machinery, equipment, and supplies.
  • Process inventories of raw materials, nonconforming product and obsolescence.
  • Responsible for the training of personnel in the different activities.
  • Analyze variances from inventory to determine root cause.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Engineering

Experience

  • At least 2 years managing and/or supervising personnel or warehouse.
  • Having supervise union people

Trainings & Certifications

  • SAP (desirable)
  • 5s Training
  • Lean manufacturing
  • Problem solving tools

Skills

  • English
  • Ability to communicate at various levels in the company.
