Scope of Position:
Our Process Engineering – Data Analytics group partners with plants and central engineering to build analytics that improve yield, stability, and cost across high-volume manufacturing. You’ll contribute to Advanced Process Data Analytics projects (e.g., SPC modernization, anomaly detection, and model-in-the-loop improvements).
You will design, build, and evaluate data solutions that transform raw manufacturing data into actionable insights. Expect hands-on work with Databricks (Spark), Python, and SQL to develop pipelines and statistical analyses that support process capability, control, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data engineering & preparation: ingest, clean, and join sensor/mesoscale datasets in Databricks; implement validation and data quality checks.
- Statistical process analysis: apply SPC, capability studies, and time-series methods to detect drift and instability; communicate findings to process owners.
- Visualization & reporting: build clear notebooks/dashboards for operators/engineers; document assumptions, data lineage, and model limits.
- Collaboration: work with process engineers, manufacturing SMEs, and DT to prioritize backlogs and translate requirements into analytics deliverables.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Data Science, Industrial/Process/Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
- Coursework/projects in probability & statistics, data structures, and introductory ML.
- Practical experience with Python and SQL; familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative workflows.
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May 27th – July 31st, 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later.

Desired Skills:
- Exposure to Spark/Databricks and cloud data platforms (Azure/AWS); interest in lakehouse architectures.
- Knowledge of SPC and process-control concepts; prior work in a lab or manufacturing setting.
- Basic understanding of MLOps practices (reproducibility, validation, monitoring).

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
