Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager with dotted line reporting to the R&D&E Liquid Lens Manager, the Application Engineer will be in charge of developing new optical modules using liquid lenses and providing customers support related to the design of optical imaging systems.

 

This position is to be fulfilled in a fast growing and dynamic organization serving worldwide markets. The liquid lens products are unique and without any equivalent or precedent on the market so that their integration in optical systems requires extensive and dedicated technical customer support both at evaluation and design stage.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Development of optical modules :

• Development and industrialization of new optical Caspian® modules (S and C-mounts, microscopy lenses,…), technical support and coordination with related supply chain,

• Characterization and expertise of the optical modules image quality for integrated camera modules.

 

Customers Optical support :

• Customers support on the optical aspects of the liquid lens integration, identification of customers’ needs and expectations in order to provide them with the appropriate solution,

• Creation and maintenance of the liquid lenses optical simulation models and related modules, • Creation and maintenance of customer support documents (Application notes, User Guides, etc…),

• Exploration of new application fields for the Liquid lens proposals and realization of demonstrators or retrofits. • Participation and animation of seminars and trade shows.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

• Engineering degree preferably in optics or equivalent,

• 5 to 10 year-experience in a R&D role and/or technical customers support

• Significant & relevant work experience in the imaging and/or optical modules design,

• Ability to express the mechanical constraints of an optical design in view of its realization and capability to interface with suppliers/ partners

• Skills in optical simulation software (Zemax) are mandatory, experience with CAD (Solidworks, Catia) is a real plus

• Fluent in English is a must. Another language (Mandarin for example) would be appreciated. French proficiency is not required. Qualities: proactive and rigorous, relational ease, analytical mind, customer oriented.
