Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group): Reporting to Development Associate, you will support development projects, maintain lab, order lab supplies and reagents. You will perform cell culture (including 3D and polarized), cell assays, RNA isolation, QRTPCR, immunocytochemistry and ELISA. Your responsibilities will also include reagent preparation, conducting experiments, data collection, documentation, preliminary data analysis, technical problem solving, writing SOPs and technical reports. For Lab maintenance, you will order and replace liquid nitrogen and CO2 tanks, order and stock lab supplies and reagents.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Plans and performs lab experiments with limited supervision, in accordance with our general project plans, and timelines
  • Researching information to develop new methods and procedures for testing, data acquisition, data analysis, writing technical reports
  • Responsible for developing working knowledge of laboratory protocols, collecting data and reviewing with the supervisor
  • Assist in routine clean-up and maintenance of our general laboratory facility including ordering and stocking as needed
  • Participates in group meetings, other mandatory company meetings


Travel Requirements (please note if international): Minimal <5% for meetings, no international travel


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Full time, 40 hr/ week


Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)

  • Master's or PhD Degree in Biology/Biochemistry or related science
  • A minimum of one or more years of experience performing research work in a laboratory


Required Skills:

  • Experience in cell culture and cell based assays
  • Deep knowledge of Cell and Molecular biology
  • Ability to follow the protocols, keep neat, accurate, and complete records and write a report
  • Familiar with MS word, Power Point, excel to perform data acquisition, analysis and prepare report


Desired Skills

  • Ability to work on more than one project at a time to meet predetermined deadlines
  • Experience with ELISA, QRTPCR
  • Familiar with SAP ordering system
