Scope of Position:


We seek highly motivated and independent Senior Scientist to join our Development team. The position will lead/support development of new innovative products for cell culture/assay application, and transfer of technology to manufacturing and QC. The position requires ability to work independently as well as the ability to effectively collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include planning and conducting experiments, analyzing data, technical problem solving, writing SOPs, technical reports, and external product literature and sometimes answering customer queries.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

Independently design, plans and performs lab experiments in accordance with general project plans, and timelines Record, analyze, interpret data and perform troubleshooting Report data to the project team and stakeholders, and write technical reports Research information and develop new methods and procedures for testing, data acquisition, data analysis as needed to support the project objectives Maintain cell lines, equipment etc. as needed for the project Lead or support technology transfer to internal or external manufacturing site Contribute to product commercialization efforts Work in cross functional environment via extensive collaboration with other parts of the organization  


Travel Requirements (please note if international): Some travel to conferences/ meetings and customer visits (~ 5%)

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Full time, 40 hr/ week, occasional weekend work may be required based on the project need


Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)

Ph.D. in Biological sciences or related discipline with 5 or more years of industry experience or M.S. in Biological sciences or related discipline with 10 or more years of industry experience  


Required Skills:

Expertise in cell culture (adherent and suspension) including cell lines, primary cells, stem cells, and 3D cell culture Experience with human T cell isolation from PBMCs, T cell activation and transduction, expansion of T cells Experience in performing lentiviral transduction to primary T cells  Expertise in flow cytometry, cell-based assays, ELISA, transfection, immunocytochemistry Experience and track record in new products/technologies development and transfer to manufacturing Ability to independently plan and conduct experiments, adapt experimental design based on emerging data, analyze data, and write reports Strong communication skills - written and verbal Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects with constantly changing priorities and deadlines


Desired Skills Knowledge and experience with Cell and Gene therapy technologies/equipment Strong publications record  


Soft Skills (Communication/Team/Leadership) High level interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong sense of urgency, work ethic, ability to manage time and meet project timelines Ability to independently identify problems and develop solutions Exercise good judgment in protection and dissemination of Company confidential and proprietary information
