Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Responsibilities:

Si TFT Technology Innovations

• Determine the glass implications from the a-Si TFT LCD product/ technology roadmap
• Lead in-depth understanding of a-Si TFT LCD new technologies and identify threats/opportunity
• Lead and enhance the value chain technical engagement, including JE opportunity

Complex Customer Issue Resolution

• Lead “root cause unknown” complex issue resolution
• Support fundamental study with S&T

New Opportunity Development

• Collect VOC by engaging customer’s R&D group and lead project to provide value-added solutions to customer Knowledge, Skills and Behaviors
 

Desired skills:

• Solid understanding of glass manufacturing process and technology capabilities, including product specifications
• Extensive knowledge of LCD/semiconductor industry
• Ability to engage and interact effectively with internal groups to assure the right process flow is taking place
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database management)
• Ability to work/communicate across varied Asian cultures
• Strong technical / analytical skills…Detail oriented
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills for both internal and external customers
• Commercial savvy, can prioritize issues
• Proven experience managing multiple objectives and balancing heavy demands on time
• Strong English skills, native Chinese/Japanese a plus
• Positive attitude and strong “can-do” spirit

 

Education Level and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in optics, electronics, glass/material engineering or science. MBA a plus.
• 3+ years of high-tech, OEM or material AE experience.
• Marketing, Commercial Operations, Quality Management and/or Supply Chain experience a plus.
