Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

      • Defines supply chain strategies linked to business strategies for global product lines. Ensures strategic alignment with product life cycle.
      • Collaborates with commercial teams to understand global customer demand, drives the planning process to create quarterly and monthly production and supply plan to meet those demand.
      • Works with the supply management and plant organizations to coordinate final shipment process, schedule and other requirements to meet customer needs and service levels.
      • Leads team to analyze manufacturing assumptions, determine production capacity and tank/line production capability.
      • Works with Manufacturing leadership to understand current plans and possible issues. Engages Development and Engineering groups to ensure any disruptions to normal capacity are sequenced at appropriate times, any downtime requirements are suitably scheduled.
      • Determines which lines to run and at what capacity.  Proactively communicates projected capacity and/or inventory constraints to Operations, Finance, and Engineering leadership.
      • Coordinates division-wide, optimized, and cost-efficient production and inventory plans aligning with Commercial short-and long-term sales plans. Minimizes non-standard inventory and any excess/idle capacity.
      • Leads sales and operations planning (S&OP) with cross-functional leadership to focus on long term planning, supply chain gaps and constraint mitigation, and solutions to add new capacity.
      • Maximizes 18-month and 5YP long term scalability and adaptability to change, including market and business needs.
      • Creates, tracks, monitors and reports on global supply chain metrics to ensure effective execution of the manufacturing and business strategies, in support of overall business financial performance metrics.
    • Lead the global metal network supply chain strategy and organization to:
      • Manage capacity for salvage/melting/rolling/fabrication processes to ensure commitment to delivery schedules
      • Ensure no shortage across entire supply chain without production disruptions
      • Ensure global capacity and resources match with 18-mths and 5YP business objectives.
      • Optimize metal lifecycle and identify & minimize slow moving or idle metal inventory
      • Oversee contract manufacturer performance management (e.g., yield and delivery)
      • Collaborate with local CMS/KMS/Rebuild SCM to drive synergies
      • Ensure logistics operations efficiency
    • Implement key performance metrics and management
    • Set inventory targets and track execution in-line with planning
    • Coordinate reporting to executive leadership and provide recommendations
    • Identify global planning system/process re-engineering opportunities and propose improvement
    • Develop and implement talent planning and capability building programs


    • Degree required in BS/BA or above in Engineering disciplines, mechanical/material engineering or related


    • 10+ years in supply chain, global capacity planning, manufacturing operations, supply networking planning preferred. Experiences in plant operations or equivalent senior consulting role considered.
    • Global supply chain management with experience to coordinate ES&OP process is a plus
    • Semi-conductor, consumer electronics, capital intensive or related consulting experience
    • Managing global teams
    • Mastery of supply chain strategy best practices and philosophy in optimizing operations.
    • Leading cross-functional global teams to deliver results.
    • Experience leading large projects.
    • Experience on reporting to General Manager and/or Business Team
    • Experience in capacity planning, Master Production Scheduling and MRP
    • Procurement operations, input material management, vendor management, logistics operations
    • Import/export/custom clearance process, warehouse and forwarder management
    • Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities
    • Demonstrated track record of on time delivery within budget; ability to drive projects to successful conclusion using influencing tools
    • Ability to lead international teams across multiple initiatives that span various lines of business, geographic borders, time zones, and cultures
    • Must be a self-starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others
    • Prior work experience outside Corning.
    • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
    • Certified Production; Inventory Manager (CPIM).
    • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
    • Experience with Corning's Supply Chain Model (Demand Planning, Sourcing, Supply Planning; Execution, Logistics, Network Planning, Contract Manufacturing).
    • LEAN or Six Sigma Certification or equivalent experience.
    • MES/Shop Floor Control system implementation
    • CPIM, ERP implementation or consulting (e.g., SAP/Oracle …)
    • Planning or scheduling system modeling/design/implementation
