Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Commercial Technology Manager AI/HPC and Enterprise EMEA (m/f/d)

Region: EMEA (candidate could be region-based in: Poland, Germany, UK, Spain, France)

 

Role Purpose

Develop Commercial Technology presence across EMEA, supporting high-growth AI/HPC enterprise data center and MTDC opportunities. The role focuses on priority customer segments and ecosystems, helping translate global and regional strategy into local development activity and ensuring alignment with broader DCBU priorities.

 

Role Mission

Establish and drive Commercial Technology engagement across EMEA priority markets and accounts, with focus on AI/HPC EN, sovereign AI / AI factories, OEM ecosystem, MTDC, and Enterprise data center opportunities.

  • Backup support for specific regional requirements when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Market Development / Commercial Technology presence across priority EMEA accounts and ecosystems.
  • Support strategic engagement in the region in alignment with global account ownership.
  • Drive local market development activity in AI/HPC enterprise networking, sovereign AI, OEM ecosystem, MTDC, and enterprise data center opportunities.
  • Act as the primary Market Development / Commercial Technology interface for EMEA Sales and Marketing support.
  • Provide structured market feedback and competitive / ecosystem intelligence to regional and global stakeholders.
  • Support customer and ecosystem prioritization in alignment with broader DCBU strategy.
  • Contribute to development of repeatable market plays within EN global accounts and AI/HPC enterprise initiatives.
  • Coordinate across Commercial Technology, Sales, Marketing, Product Line Management and ecosystem stakeholders where needed to support regional execution.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the data center industry, with a strong background in market development, business development, strategic account management, or technical sales.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree, preferred in Engineering (Telecom, Industrial, Optical, Electrical or similar).
  • Strong technical understanding of data center, AI/HPC infrastructure, AI/HPC and cloud networking, or related technology markets
  • Ability to operate across strategic customers, ecosystem partners, sales teams, PLM teams, and marketing stakeholders
  • Good understanding of regional market dynamics in EMEA.
  • Ability to translate strategic direction into structured regional execution.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities.

 

Travel Requirements

  • 25 - 50% (maximum) within EMEA

 

Language

  • English: Business fluent or native proficiency
  • Additional languages are an advantage
