  • Own the controlling function, and be a key member and decision maker of local commercial and services management staff
  • Dedicatedly utilize business partnership skills to move the services organization to better cost understanding and higher profitability
  • Analyze and report on key operational and accounting metrics. Present financial performance in various internal forums (EMEA and US) as required
  • Work closely with commercial leadership and account teams to ensure the best financial outcomes for the optical communications in EMEA
  • Analyze service contracts and handle WIP and % of completion of long-term contracts
  • Strong emphasis on internal controls, including creation and management of internal controls; remediation of internal control issues; related reporting
  • Cooperate with customer service department to ensure timely and accurate completion of controlling activities, including contract management, period reporting, and budgeting
  • Ensure appropriate support of COC’s divisional requirements and Corning Finance functions
  • Design and implement programs, processes, and procedures to reduce cycle time and better decision-making in support of the achievement of corporate, function and business goals and objectives
  • Provides finance expertise and decision support to business leaders in support of the division strategy (efficient turnaround time to inquiries from internal customers)
  • Identify and assess financial implications (ROI, IRR & Payback) of capital investments
  • Monitor, identify and support deviations to budget and forecast.

  • Support engineering in identifying and calculating cost reduction implications for various projects / initiatives

Travel Requirements:

  • 50% short-term (Hannover); 10-20% long-term

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent

Desired Education:

  • MBA

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • 5 years of relevant experience (preferred project services/engineering and/or commercial environment)
  • Controller experience (within or outside Corning)
  • Validated knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP

Required Skills:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English & German
  • Strong financial and accounting background
  • Deep understanding of financial controls
  • Ability to be comfortable interacting and communicating with all aspects of the business, including plant staff and senior managers.
  • SAP, Excel & PowerPoint Skills
