Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Marketing Coordinator, EMEA Programs (m/f/d)
The contract is limited to 1.5 to 2 years as a maternity leave backfill
Purpose of Position
The Marketing Programs and Customer Education team is responsible for delivering best in class programs and training opportunities that bring awareness of products, solutions and services through both hands-on and virtual educational opportunities and grow revenue for Corning. It is the team’s goal to build and support customers while developing relationships and awareness for future business growth.
Responsible for the execution and on-going management of marketing programs and day to day activities that properly position Corning Optical Communications with our installer communities to drive incremental revenue. Responsible for executing trainings/events for key customers in the In-Building, Data Center, and Carrier Markets. This person will take directions and guidance from the Marketing Specialist, EMEA Programs, to define the annual program and training plan.
This person will need to have a cross-regional mindset and will be challenged by working with the APAC, CALA, and USCAN teams to propose how we can continue to expand offerings globally.
Team members will support each other collectively to assist in team development, cross training, and execution of activities as necessary. The Marketing Coordinator must be able to demonstrate successful customer service and problem-solving skills and be able to work independently and in team environments. Excellent written and verbal skills are required. Experience in marketing, customer service, and event management is required. Fiber optic knowledge and training experience is preferred.
Major Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute program activities and events in alignment with the global marketing framework.
- Execute program activities and events in alignment with sales goals & objectives.
- Manage all aspects of event planning, execution, and post-event activities.
- Develop and maintain processes and development of materials for programs and events.
- Track and report on event successes and marketing awareness initiatives.
- Ensure that all activities & trainings are executed on time and on budget.
- Manage the Network of Preferred Installers Program to support members and sales, including development of analytics/dashboards, partner communication, program changes/improvements recommendations, content creation, and joint marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with Sales & Market Development to ensure programs are aligned with sales goals.
- Build relationships with key members to stay connected to opportunities and market dynamics.
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Skill and Knowledge Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent.
- Experience in Marketing, Customer Service, and Event Management is required.
- Experience working with sales channels/programs in the B2B sector.
- Excellent Excel skills or experience are required.
- Excellent English skills (spoken and written) are required; knowledge of German, Spanish, and French is a plus.

- Proven interpersonal skills.
- Must possess strong initiative and resiliency.
- Proven organizational and time management skills..
- Competency in SalesForce.com, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Understanding of sales and ability to be customer facing.
- Ability to work in a global remote team environment.
- Flexible and extended work hours may be required.
- Master’s degree/MBA would be a benefit.
