Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Position Overview

Corning Optical Communications is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity for professional growth by contributing to website improvements, analytics, and content creation. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, technical writing skills, and a passion for marketing to help enhance our digital presence and engage our audiences globally.

Key Responsibilities

1. Website Improvements

• Conduct an audit of the current Corning Optical Communications website to identify areas for improvement in content, design, and functionality.
• Collaborate with team members to implement updates and improvements, including optimizing website navigation, enhancing user experience, and ensuring consistency across pages.
• Ensure all website content is translated accurately and effectively into both English and German.
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure all updates meet Corning’s branding guidelines and standards.

2. Analytics

• Monitor website traffic and user behavior using tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or other relevant platforms.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports summarizing key insights and trends in website performance.
• Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to improve website engagement and user experience.
• Assist in setting up tracking mechanisms for specific campaigns or initiatives to measure their effectiveness.

3. Content Creation Support

• Assist in the creation of high-quality marketing content, including blog posts, case studies, white papers, and product descriptions.
• Translate technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging content suitable for diverse audiences.
• Ensure all content is available in both English and German, maintaining linguistic and cultural accuracy.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm creative ideas for campaigns, social media posts, and promotional materials.
• Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, attention to detail, and alignment with Corning’s tone and style.

4. Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the digital marketing, product management, and design teams, to align website updates and content creation with overall marketing goals.
• Participate in regular team meetings to share progress, insights, and ideas for improvement.
• Provide support for other marketing initiatives as needed, including email campaigns and event promotions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and German (written and spoken).
• Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure high levels of accuracy and consistency in all work.
• Technical Writing Ability: Skill in translating complex technical information into simple, engaging content for diverse audiences.
• Creativity: Ability to think outside the box and bring fresh ideas to marketing projects.
• Analytical Skills: Experience with tools like Google Analytics and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
• Digital Marketing Knowledge: Familiarity with website management, SEO, and digital marketing best practices.
• Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
