Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Product Line Manager, Carrier Fiber Optic Hardware (FOC/FOX) EMEA (m/f/d)

 

 

Role Purpose

The Product Line Manager is responsible for the combined FOX/FOC product line addressing the significant HC as well as the ISP and DC Meet me Room opportunities.  The Product Line Manager is responsible for leading the cross-functional FOX/FOC Regional Product Team consisting of colleagues from technology, production, supply chain, and engineering organizations responsible for the strategic growth and profitability of the product line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads FOX/FOC-EMEA regional product team to develop FTTx market insight through strategic assessments of the market, customer, competitors, and capabilities.
  • Creates an effective Product Line vision, strategy, critical projects, roadmaps, and plans (1 and 5 year).
  • Manages financial and market performance of the product line.
  • Develops and communicates product long-term forecasts.
  • Establishes Product pricing strategies and manages requests and customer RFQ’s.
  • Develops Product Specialist and Product Line Analyst work within the Product Line.
  • Exercises the appropriate indirect influence over Product Team members to ensure their engagement and commitment to the work.
  • Builds credibility with customers and internal decision-makers by delivering data-based strategic direction for the product line and supporting it articulately.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing projects.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading multi-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead prioritization and decision making within the product team.
  • Work experience in a Commercial / PLM function.
  • Fluency in English, and proficiency in German and or French a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – General.
  • MBA or equivalent demonstrated experience (i.e., extensive experience in business).
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Experience managing people.
  • Financial analysis and accounting experience.
  • Work experience in Manufacturing and/or Development.
  • Work experience in a Strategy group.
  • International business work experience.
  • Participation in, or leadership of, multicultural and/or multi-geographic projects.
