Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Senior Finance Analyst (m/f/d)
The Global Finance Function acts as a proactive business partner, providing insight and making recommendations based upon deep analytics and strong process control. Finance also provides financial expertise companywide and ensures accurate and efficient transaction processing.
Purpose of the Position:
The Finance Analyst role is responsible for various financial functions within Corning Optical Communications. The focus areas include SAP Controlling and Business Reporting.
Additionally, this role serves as a proactive business and finance partner for the PLM Organization, providing analytics and guidance to PLM Managers and PLM Controllers to influence business decisions.
This individual will be part of a dynamic, supportive, and progressive team that drives cross-functional reporting, implements process improvements, and ensures the Business Unit’s compliance with Corning Optical Communications and Corning Incorporated policies and procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
- PLM Controlling to improve understanding of revenue and profitability, consult cross functional Product Teams, Canyons reporting, P&L scenarios and detailed revenue and margin planning on customer & product level
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries, profit center and cost center reporting, preparation of EMEA Product Line Profitability reporting in collaboration with Plant Controller
- Partner with PLM on OPEX planning, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Contribute to the annual operating plan, forecast cycles, and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.
- Develop knowledge of the business, markets, and key financial drivers to build capability and support long-term growth.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Business Unit Finance processes, reporting, and tools.
- Help maintain a strong internal control environment by ensuring compliance with GAAP, Corning accounting policies, and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 documentation requirements.
Required Education, Experience:
- University degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or other related degree.
- 3 to 8 years of related cost accounting or other financial analysis experience in manufacturing setting
- Experience working with finance data tools: SAP FICO, Excel, PP, Finance projects
Required Skills:
- SAP Controlling FICO experience. Candidate's ability to understand and maintain financial structures like Cost Center, Cost Elements, Profit Center, Internal Orders, Accounts, etc.
- Desire for IT applications and systems, affinity to numbers and analysis, problem solving skills
- Critical thinker, inquisitive, persistent, and rigorous.
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization/cross-functional teams
- Experience in Microsoft Suite, SAP and PowerBI
Desired Skills:
- Experience with data management across multiple platforms.
- Performance Excellence experience (Six Sigma, lean processes).
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work independently and within a matrix organization
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with business partners, divisional finance teams, and customers at all levels of the organization.
- Understand and empathize with differences in people and cultures.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- English and German language skills verbal and written, other languages a benefit
Travel Requirements:
