Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Responsibilities: 

• You support the Product Line Management team with daily business tasks across analytics, reporting, and coordination

• Assist with product data maintenance (specifications, configurations, part numbers, lifecycle status)

• You help maintain and improve product-, customer-, and project-related data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems

• You work closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to collect information and consolidate it into clear, usable outputs

• You assist in preparing internal presentations, dashboards, and market insights that support decision-making

• You contribute to demand tracking, pricing updates, and product lifecycle documentation

• You help monitor key operational metrics such as delivery performance, inventory levels, and customer requirements

• You assist in organizing meeting notes, follow-ups, and process documentation to keep cross-functional activities running smoothly 

 

Qualifications: 

• You are currently enrolled at a university, preferably in Business Administration, Engineering (Telecommunications, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial), Economics, or a comparable field

• You work in a structured and reliable manner, even when multiple tasks run in parallel

• You are analytical, organized, and comfortable working with data

• Good working knowledge of MS 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Sharepoint, Teams)

• You bring strong communication and coordination skills

• You have a good eye for detail and enjoy improving processes and information quality

• You have very good English skills (written and oral); German is a plus

• You can work 20 h/week during the semester and up to 40 h/week during the semester break
