Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

For our Technology Center in Berlin Adlershof we are currently looking for a Working Student or Intern Optical Simulations (m/f/d)

 

Responsibilities:

• Modification and creation of simulation models for micro-optical systems

• Optimization of lens and mirror systems

• Development of software routines to automate simulation tasks

• Analysis of simulation and measurement data

• Experimental validation of simulation results

 

Requirements:

• Registered university student in the field of physics, photonics or similar subjects

• Experience in using ray-tracing software like Zemax, Code V or FRED is a plus

• First experiences in Matlab, Python or other programming languages is a plus

• Good Microsoft Office skills (EXCEL, PowerPoint)

• Fluent in English or German (written and oral)

• As a working student you will be able to work up to 20 hours per week during your semester, and up to 40 hours per week during your semester break.

Für unser neues Technology Center in Berlin Adlershof suchen wir ab sofort eine/n Werkstudent/in oder Praktikant/in im Bereich Optische Simulationen (m/w/d)

 

Aufgabenbereich:

• Bearbeitung und Erstellung von Simulationsmodellen von Mikrooptischen Systemen

• Optimierung von Linsen und Spiegelsystemen

• Implementierung von Softwareroutinen zur Automatisierung von Simulationsaufgaben

• Analyse von Simulations- und Messdaten

• Verifikation von Simulationsergebissen in Experimenten

 

Qualifikationen:

• Ordentlich eingeschriebene/r Student/in im Bereich Physik, Optik oder verwandten Studiengängen

• Erfahrungen mit Ray-Tracing Software wie Zemax, Code V oder FRED sind von Vorteil

• Gute Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Microsoft Office Produkten (insb. Excel und PowerPoint)

• Fließend in Deutsch oder Englisch

• Anstellung als Werkstudent/in erfolgt auf Teilzeitbasis (max. 20 Wochenstunden während des Semesters / max. 40 Wochenstunden während der Semesterferien)
