Scope of Position:

In this role, you will have supervisory responsibilities for logistics operations for a pharmaceutical vial manufacturing facility. You will have responsibility for hourly associates and a contingent workforce. We look for you to provide direction to employees according to established policies and guidance. Incumbents in this position have the opportunity to progress to various roles in the organization.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for performing work in a safe manner and maintaining a safe work environment in the warehouse, shipping and receiving areas.
  • Responsible for observing safe work practices and being proactive for reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of activities in shipping and receiving to meet operational goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Develop, train and coach employees to be responsible and accountable for their individual and team objectives.
  • Manage employee time and attendance for timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Lead, coach and participate on teams to accomplish individual, department, plant and division objectives.
  • Maintain metric tracking and reporting, including shipping and receiving performance and costs.
  • Ensure raw material and finished goods inventory accuracy.
  • Responsible for process material, WIP, and FG inventory management processes, reporting, and accuracy.
  • Manage customer shipment process while ensuring OTIF metric goals are met.
  • Prioritization of department activities and schedules to meet business needs in a constantly changing environment.
  • Develops and implements department SOPs and Visual Work Instructions.


Travel Requirements:

  • Negligible


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Normal schedule: Monday – Friday, standard business hours.
  • Rotating weekends or off-hours may be required, depending on business needs.


Required Education:

  • Bachelor degree required.


Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years of manufacturing or supply chain experience.
  • Minimum 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.


Required Skills:

  • Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency.
  • SAP/Peoplesoft or similar ERP system knowledge with regards to requisitioning, shipping, and inventory functions.


Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Prior manufacturing industry experience.
  • Prefer Logistics or Warehouse experience.
  • Experience with project leadership and emerging business system development.
  • Proven experience in identifying process gaps and driving effective efforts to resolve them.


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Agile mindset and ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Ability dealing with ambiguity to make quick decisions in changing business conditions.
