Scope of Position:

In this role, you will lead capital projects to improve manufacturing processes and introduce new manufacturing and engineering processes for CPT. You will lead capital and non-capital projects from concept through implementation including determining project scope and resource needs, establishing equipment specifications, completing FATs and DOEs, and writing and executing validation protocols. We look for you to actively support, improve, and ensure compliance to the business and quality management systems through documentation preparation, process auditing, and completion of corrective actions. This position works closely with operations management, functional leaders, engineers, and external partners to establish work priorities and work assignments across the various functional groups


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead matrixed project teams.
  • Provides leadership in assigned projects.
  • Applies Capricorn tools and stage gate process to capital projects.
  • Act to continuously improve and expand the site’s capabilities.
  • Act to continuously improve overall plant performance through project identification and completion.
  • Plans and directs schedules and budgets.
  • Responsible for AR preparation, project cost control, and change control.
  • Support standardization efforts in assigned processes.
  • Regularly collaborates with receivers and other key partners.
  • Ensure alignment by all site functional groups to standard processes, business and quality systems, and governmental regulations (OSHA, ISO, QSR, FDA, cGMP, etc.).
  • Identify and implement modifications to production equipment and processes to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by improving process yield, improving production rate, and improving machine availability.
  • Documents changes via the change control process using EtQ.
  • Ensure maintenance and operations personnel are trained on processes and machinery to transfer operations knowledge and ensure operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Conflict resolution, problem resolution, and priority setting.
  • Develop robust processes & architectures via use of tools such as PQA & Six sigma
  • Establish and implement validation master plans and document validation results (IQ, OQ, PQ).


Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 25%; Limited project or training related (domestic and international).


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Standard business hours, Monday – Friday.
  • Additional hours may be needed as required to meet project needs.


Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Prefer Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering disciplines.


Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ project experience in an engineering or technical role in a manufacturing environment.


Required Skills:

  • You should have the ability to clearly and frequently communicate ideas and progress against objectives.


Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Project Management/leadership skills.
  • Prefer PMP certification.
  • Familiarity with Stage Gate Capital process.
  • Six Sigma trained.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, ISO, cGMP.
  • Experience running process validations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
