Contract Manufacturing Manager


The Contract Manufacturing Manager will be providing strategic value to the Global Supply Management (GSM) and Corning businesses.




  • Execute global contract manufacturing service strategy by implementing and enhancing the sourcing, on-boarding and operation management services
  • Responsible for purchasing activities, including tactical operations support, with manufacturing, planning and commercial team
  • Owns/Assists with Supplier Relationship Management Process (including supplier audits)
  • Participates in cross-functional teams focused on process improvements, cost reduction and supply chain issue resolution
  • Establish and enhance global/regional service footprint and service capability
  • Continue to develop and enhance supplier quality and compliance roadmap to support the contract manufacturing service deployment and meet the business needs
  • Conduct strategic reviews on existing and future potential manufacturing requirements is assigned region, including high-level assessment of opportunities to utilize external manufacturing or asset lean product production in Corning’s value chains 




  • B.S degree in technical or business discipline
  • Leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Skilled in implementing and managing Contract Manufacturing operations, preferably in high-tech, electronics, consumer, or highly engineered product environment; demonstrated experience with Supplier Relationship Management in these related fields
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations with experience of demand planning, material management, production management and quality management
  • Knowledge of supply chain operations with experience of problem solving, decision making and project management skills
  • People management experience and skills (Directly/Indirectly i.e. project management)
  • Ability to manage varied and demanding workload across multiple businesses and time zones


The role will involve a fair amount of travel regionally and during start-up operations this could be significant. International travel might be required but would be minimal.
