Lead, EMEA Transportation Sourcing

(2-Year Fixed-Term Contract)

 

Role Purpose

The Regional Logistics Sourcing Manager is responsible for end-to-end sourcing and supplier management of Road Freight and Parcel services across EMEA. The role owns regional tendering, commercial negotiations, rate governance, and supplier performance, working closely with Transportation, Operations, Finance, and Business stakeholders to deliver competitive cost, reliable service, and compliant logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own regional sourcing and supplier management for Road Freight (FTL, LTL, groupage) and Parcel services across EMEA, including strategic tendering, spot buying governance and rate management.
  • Define and execute regional category strategies for road and parcel, aligned with business growth, service and cost objectives.
  • Lead multi‑year sourcing roadmaps.
  • Lead regional RFQs/RFPs for road and parcel transportation, including preparation, execution, evaluation and award recommendations.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives, negotiate rates, surcharges, indexation mechanisms, service levels and commercial terms with key suppliers.
  • Support, review and analysis of contracts, vendor agreements and NDAs in transportation.
  • Ensure sourcing activities align with sourcing policy, global sourcing strategy, compliance and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Own rate card accuracy and governance for Freight Bill Audit and payment processes.
  • Support CO₂ reduction initiatives and data collection for road and parcel transportation.
  • Govern logistics sourcing reporting, KPIs, presentations and statistics.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional supplier relationships.
  • Manage supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards and regular business reviews.
  • Maintain effective relationships engaging with stakeholders, functions and business units that maximize value to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in logistics sourcing, transportation procurement or logistics management with hands-on road exposure‑on road exposure.
  • Strong understanding of EMEA road freight and parcel markets, cost drivers and carrier landscape.
  • Experience with fuel mechanisms, accessorial and indexation models.
  • Comfortably working with sourcing tools and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong negotiation skills with solid understanding of transportation contracts, rate structures and risk areas.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into sourcing and commercial decisions.
  • Experience working in a regional or international environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Structured, organized and comfortable managing multiple sourcing initiatives in parallel.
  • Strong communication skills with cross-cultural awareness.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (rate analysis, scenarios, benchmarking); good working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
  • Fluent English required.
  • Willingness for limited business travels.
