Job Description Overview
The Operations Department Lead is responsible for providing technical input, solutions, and options for improving productivity and efficiencies in the assigned areas of the plant located in Canton, NY. This individual will be responsible for ensuring a motivated and skilled workforce. The Operations Lead will be required to assess skills, write performance reviews and recommends and/or provide training to ensure department personnel are technically competent to perform assign tasks in the facility. The Corning Canton facility is a continuous operations facility.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required, Bachelor's in Engineering preferred
• 2 years supervisory or prior military leadership experience required
• Minimum of 2 years relevant manufacturing experience required
• Project management understanding and skills preferred
• Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence and effectively present information to groups.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and organizational/time management skills
• Union experience a plus

Responsibilities & Duties
• Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area to meet production goals, quality, and costs.
• Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
• Directs subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
• Conduct presentations of technical information with subordinates, customers and functional peer groups at management levels
• Manage performance of individuals/teams assembling components for assemblies, subassemblies, or completed units.

The range for this position is $89,534.00 - $123,109.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
